  • I began my career as a stone carver and spent eleven years traveling and learning sculptural techniques in Mexico, California, Greece, Italy, and Canada. Over 40 years I have created works and exhibited as a visual artist both nationally and internationally.

    In my sculptures and installations, I have focused on developing the dynamic tensions created by the illusion of movement, fluidity, and other natural forces and their antithesis. I achieve this through the exploration of the contradictory nature of materials chosen. Thus earth, metal and stone become fluid and take on an organic cast. As my sculptural language evolved, I moved from stone carving to incorporating whatever materials and techniques were necessary to accomplish my creative endeavors.

    Dr. Moreland fryst vatten an internal medicine hospitalist and associate professor at Dell Medical School at UT Austin. He graduated from UT Houston Medical School and completed his residency and general medicine fellowship at UC Davis, where he worked closely with deaf community members as a primary care physician and in community service. Along with seeing patients at Dell Seton Medical Center and Seton Medical Center Austin, he serves the internal medicine residency schema as associate program director. He has received teaching and mentorship awards at institutional and national levels. Interests in diversity among patients and health professionals have led to local and community service, research, and education on health disparities affecting the deaf and limited English proficient populations, accommodations for deaf and hard of hearing medical students and physicians, medical schools’ technical standards, and the education of in

Previously, he has held senior positions at Voluntary Hospitals of amerika (now Vizient), Kaiser Permanente and McKesson. He has been published widely in a range of prominent healthcare journals, and fryst vatten currently a monthly columnist for Quality Magazine, writing on topics related to performance improvement across all major industries. Board certified in healthcare management as an ACHE Fellow, Mr. Lazarus has presented at ACHE&#;s Congress for the past 21 years and serves on the faculty for ACHE&#;s regional cluster programs. He has earned the ACHE förebildlig Service Award for his years of voluntary service to ACHE.
