I’m a child of the 90s. Born at the start of it, and as such missed out on the whole Cold War thing, and the USSR stuff. All of my knowledge about the conflict stems from either history class, and/or the 80s cartoons I’ve watched where the Soviets were a big deal, or at least noteworthy. Season three of the original Transformers mentions them a few times. Given how…tense things seemed to be back then, it’s a little odd that our next character was featured pretty heavily, and in a very favorable light. You’d think that patriotism back then would have made it difficult to make anyone from the east side of the Iron Curtain seem like a good guy. But that’s the X-Men for ya, finding heroes in places where some would never think to look. Side note, while I know a lot of places use the anglicized version of Piotr’s name, I will not. It! The Living Colossus is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Initially a statue animated by a hostile extraterrestrial, he first appeared in the science-fiction anthology series Tales of Suspense #14 (Feb. 1961), in a story drawn by Jack Kirby (writer unknown).[1] He was revived in Astonishing Tales #21 (Dec. 1973) bygd writer Tony Isabella and artist Dick Ayers as the protagonist of a short-lived feature, in which he was animated bygd a wheelchair-using special-effects designer.

- Metal Mimicry: Colossus is a mutant with power to convert the tissues of his entire body into an organic metal substance that appears to be analogous to osmium and to carbon steel. He is able to transform into this armor-like state at will (the process is virtually instantaneous) and remain in that struktur for an as yet undetermined amount of time. The longest time he has remained in armored form by choice so far has been five days. Once in his armored form eller gestalt he remains so until he consciously wills himself back to normal. If he is rendered unconscious, however, he spontaneously reverts to his normal form. While in the armored state, Colossus possesses the same degree of mobility that he does in his normal form, though his endurance and speed are enhanced.
