    Jigme Lingpa (født 1729, død 1798) var en tibetansktertön innenfor skolen nyingma i tibetansk buddhisme.[4] Han var en forkynner av Longchen Nyingthig, hjertets essens av læren til Longchenpa. Ifølge tradisjonen fikk han en visjon hvor lærdommene som ble åpenbart. Longchen Nyingthig ble til slutt den mest berømte og praktiserte syklus av Dzogchen.

    Jigme Lingpa Biography

    Jigme Lingpa ('jigs tillsammans gling pa) was born in 1729 or 1730 (d.1798) in the Yarlung Valley of Tibet, not far from the dynastic tombs of Chonggye ('phyong rgyas). At the age of six he was moved to the 15th century Nyingma monastery Palri Wosel Tegchen Ling (dpal ri 'od gsal theg chen gling) in Chonggye. According to his autobiography, Jigme Lingpa went to the monastery with a group of monks from Kham after one of the monks died near his home.     The full history of saṃsāra,
    In which we fail to realize the truth
    Of exhaustion and non-arising
    And fall prey to dualistic thoughts,

    When the neutral all-ground
    Is associated with focal objects,
    Defilements arise and proliferate.
    The compounded collections of consciousness,
    The elements and sense sources
    Produce what we know as the world, the wheel of existence.

    And thus, once upon a time, when in the desire realm
    inom grasped at a self,
    inom was born in the nation of Śrī Parvati,[1]
    In the paternal family line of the Lord Gyayakpa.[2]
    As the family did not have any dependants,
    This did not prevent me from possessing all the circumstantial advantages.

    I was born a boy with a pure mind,
    And so I possessed all the five personal advantages as well.
