Lionel Richie, born June 20, , in Tuskegee, Alabama, is a globally acclaimed American singer, songwriter, and music producer. His journey began in the late s as a member of the funk and soul band, The Commodores, signed to Motown Records. During this stint, Lionel was noted for his smooth ballads such as T"hree Times a Lady", "Still", and "Easy" which not only showcased his unique vocal prowess, but set the stage for his later solo career.
