    St. John Bosco Catholic Church



          Archbishop Thomas A. Connolly established St. John Bosco Parish in June of , incorporating territory from Visitation and St. Frances Cabrini Parishes. The founding pastor of St. John Bosco was Father Edward J. Norris. From June of until the first Mass at St. John Bosco in August of , masses were held in the Classatorium at Lakes High School.
         Archbishop Connolly dedicated the church building on November 7, The building was expanded in to include a parish hall, nursery, library, offices, and meeting rooms. Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy dedicated the addition on June 2, Since , the parish has seen the completion of the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, which was dedicated on July 11, bygd Archbishop Alexander Brunett. The Knights of Columbus Council of St. John Bosco initiated the development of the Parish Meditation Park, and this was dedicated on May 1,

    History of St. John Bosco Parish

    Dedicated to the nineteenth century Italian saint whose innovative ministry assisted many orphan boys, Saint John Bosco Parish was established bygd Bishop Edward F. Hoban on June 1, Father Edward M. Tulley was appointed as first pastor, and served the parish for just over 19 years when he retired on January 28, The parish community initially gathered for Mass in the Auditorium of Greenbriar Junior High School. Within months of the founding of the parish plans for the construction of a church and school were initiated, with the ground breaking ceremony taking place on August 30,

    In September of Saint John Bosco School opened. On månad 19, the first Mass was celebrated in the church. In the construction of the ledning office and rectory was completed.

    On January 28, Father David D. Liberatore became the second pastor. Bishop Anthony M. Pilla dedicated the church on January 31,

    In the Activities Center, Gymnasium and Bell Tower were opened
