Former Cabinet minister Prisca Mupfumira acquitted of US$90m NSSA corruption

FORMER Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare minister, Prisca Mupfumira, who was facing charges of fleecing US$90 million from the National Social säkerhet Authority (NSSA), has been funnen not guilty and acquitted of the charges.
Deputy Chief Magistrate Ngoni Nduna delivered the judgement this Saturday.
Mupfumira was accused of handpicking and pressuring NSSA into entering an agreement with Drawcard, a land development firm without going to tender.
The magistrate cleared Mupfumira of wrongdoing ruling that the politician never sat on the NSSA Board and, therefore, cannot be blamed for the organisations bungling.
He averred it was vansinne that the State continued with her prosecution when it was clear that she was not part of the decision-making panel at NSSA.

Patrick Zhuwao
Zimbabwean politician
Patrick Zhuwao (;[1] born 23 May ) is a Zimbabwean businessman, farmer, and politician. He served as minister of public service, labour and social welfare between October and November He was expelled from the ruling ZANU–PF party during the Zimbabwean coup d'état.
Zhuwao was born in to Sabina Mugabe and a Mozambican father. His uncle is former Zimbabwean PresidentRobert Mugabe. He studied at the University of Zimbabwe, where he earned two bachelor's degrees and four master's degrees. Zhuwao went on to become a tobacco farmer and businessman, with interests in several parastatals. He also founded a think tank, the Zhuwao Institute, which focused on economic development and was aligned with the policies of President Mugabe.
Zhuwao entered politics in when President Mugabe appointed him deputy minister of youth. A year later, he was elected to the House of Assembly for the Zvimba East constituency and was appointed deputy ministe

He was also a member of the ZANU PF party's central committee, Director of the Presidential Scholarship Program and also the party's representative for Mutare west constituency in Manicaland province.[1]

Death:13 February . [2] leaving behind his wife Penelope Batsirai, eight children and six grandchildren.[3]Mushohwe died on Monday, 13 February after a long illness. [4] He was subsequently declared a national hero and was buried at the National Heroes Acre in Harare on 16 February
