This article is about the annual event inaugurated in 1992 and run in 2007 as the Franklin Stakes, in 2008 as the Franklin-Simpson Stakes, and between 2011–2013 as the Franklin-Simpson Mile Stakes. For the event currently held for three-year-olds only, see Franklin-Simpson Stakes.
Horse race
The Mint Millions Stakes is a Grade III American Thoroughbred horse race for three years olds and older, over a distance of one mile on the turf held annually in September at Kentucky Downs racetrack in Franklin, Kentucky during their short turf meeting. The event currently carries an offered purse of $2,000,000 which includes $1,000,000 from the Kentucky Thoroughbred Development Fund.

James "Jim" Hay (born 7 June 1950) is a Dubai-based Scottish businessman. He is the chairman of Dubai-based JMH Group, a private family business operating in the construction and luxury goods markets.[1] Hay and his wife Fitriani are racehorse owners and trainers, and significant donors to the Conservative Party.
According to The Sunday Times Rich List in 2019, he is worth £325 million.[2]
Early life
