Indian actor, director, producer and singer (born )
Silambarasan Thesingu Rajendar (born 3 February ), popularly known as Simbu or by his initials as STR, is an Indian actor, producer, and playback singer who primarily works in Tamil cinema. He is the eldest son of director T. Rajendar. He began his acting career by playing roles as a child artist in films directed by his father,[1][2] before his first lead role in his father's Kadhal Azhivathillai (). He is a recipient of two Edison Awards and three SIIMA Awards.
Early and anställda life
Silambarasan was born on 3 February in Madras, Tamil Nadu, as the eldest child of T. Rajendar and Usha Rajendar. He has a younger brother Kuralarasan, and a sister Ilakiya. From an early age, he has been a devout Hindu and an ardent follower of Lord Shiva.[3]

Silambarasan (born 3 February ) is an Indian actor, director, singer and television celebrity who works in Tamil cinema. He began his career playing minor roles as a child artist in films produced by his father, T. Rajendar. His debut, as a lead actor, was in Kadhal Azhivathillai (), which was produced and directed by his father.[1][2]
His second film Dum (), a remake of the Kannada film Appu, fared well commercially.[2][3] In the same year he appeared in Alai, a box office failure.[4] Silambarasan had three releases in The first was Kovil, which deals with the relationship between a Hindu boy and a Christian girl.[5] Silambarasan was praised by Malathi Rangarajan of The Hindu for acting with "restraint and maturity".[6] It was a box office success.[7] Silambarasan appeared next in Kuthu, a remake of the Telugu film Dil.[7
