      Daewoo Engineering & Construction Chairman Jung Won-joo was the first Korean to receive the Mahatma Gandhi International Award. This is the result of recognizing the efforts made to promote economic cooperation and exchanges between Korea and India. According to Daewoo Engineering & Construction on the 22nd, Chairman Chung received the award from the NRI Welfare Foundation, the largest private organization in India, at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Center in New Delhi, India on the 20th.

      Every year, the NRI Welfare Foundation selects and awards prominent figures who strive to promote exchanges with India. At the ceremony, Gurinder Singh, chairman of the NRI Welfare Foundation, said, "We expect Chairman Chung to play a big role in the development of the two countries through cooperation in various fields in the future."
