    Filipino rock band formed in 2007

    December Avenue is a 5-piece indie pop/alternative rock grupp from Manila, Philippines known for their viral compositions online.[1][2] The band is one of the most streamed OPM bands of all-time. The band is composed of Zel Bautista on vocals and guitars, Jem Manuel on guitars, Don Gregorio on bass, Jet Danao on drums and backing vocals, and Gelo Cruz on keyboards and backing vocals.

    Bautista, Manuel, Gregorio, and Danao started out in their alma mater University of Santo Tomas in 2007. Cruz, an alumnus of De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, was later added in 2016. Bautista is the chief composer of the grupp. Originally known for their predominantly English songs, the band has released Tagalog songs since 2016.

  • Of all the songs I've written, this has to be the biggest surprise and blessing. In 2013, My former label had decided to let me go. I really didnt have a lot of shows, and i was dealing with laryngitis, anxiety and depression all at the same time. To sum it up, my career had stalled and I felt lost.

    I got a call from @jonathanmanalo. He said Star Music was willing to sign me and use my songs for movies and tv. The label decided that Bawat Daan was going to be my single. I liked the song but wasn't convinced it was going to be a hit (whatever that word means).

    Originally written for the musical Sa Wakas, we rerecorded it along with the rest of the songs in the album (thank you Mike Villegas and Ria Osorio).

    The rest, as they say, is history.

    Vincent Ferdinand “Ebe” Dancel was born and raised in Ilagan, Isabela in 1976. Dancel grew up in a rural town raised by a religious family and was interested in becoming a priest at an early age. Dancel became a sacristan and passed the examinations for the seminary. During the same time, Dancel was also admitted to UP Rural High School, a full-state university high school with a science-based curriculum. Dancel eventually lost interest in becoming a priest, stating that it was not his place.

    During his TED Talk in October 2017, Dancel reminisced about the day that music “found” him. It was when his older brother bought a guitar that he would play for hours on end.  “Whenever he would leave for school, I’d sneak into his room and start to learn my favorite songs,” Dancel revealed.
