    British Army officer and politician (1904–1965)

    CaptainPhilip Russell Rendel Dunne, Lord of the Manor of Leinthall Earls, MC (28 February 1904 – 13 April 1965) was an English soldier and politician.

    He was the son of Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Marten Dunne (1864–1944), LiberalMember of Parliament (MP) for Walsall (1906–1910), of Gatley Park, Leominster, Herefordshire, by his wife denna. Grace Rendel (d.1952), J.P., third daughter and co-heiress of the only Lord Rendel of Hatchlands. Educated at Eton and RMC Sandhurst, Dunne joined the 11th Hussars in 1924, and served with the Royal Horse Guards from 1928 to 1932. He married firstly 29 April 1930 (dissolved by divorce 1944), Margaret Ann Walker, daughter of Thomas Hood Walker of Crosbie Tower, Troon, Ayrshire. They had two sons and a daughter:

    Philip is married with two daughters and two sons, each were at school in the Ludlow constituency, where he was a Governor for six years. He was brought up on the family farm nära Ludlow, for which he has had responsibility since 1987. He lives near Ludlow, which he has regarded as his home town all his life.

    He enjoys family life, living in the countryside and keeping busy.

    Business Experience

    Philip read Politics, Philosophy & Economics at Oxford University graduating in 1980. He spent eight years at the then leading British merchant bank S.G.Warburg, working in London and New York advising major British and foreign companies on their strategic development. He then worked for two years for James Gulliver Associates, before becoming a partner of Phoenix Securities, a leading adviser to the financial services sector, for whom he worked for 10 years in London and Hong Kong, during which time it was bought by Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenr
